Taxio Ardanaz

(Pamplona, 1978) lives and works in Bilbao. A Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Basque Country, over recent years he has been awarded different residency fellowships at Bregenz (Austria), Bilbao, Ciudad de Mexico and Beijing (China).

He has shown individually in Bilbao: “Egurre”, Sala Rekalde (2014), Madrid: “Luz Perpetua”, Galeria Raquel Ponce (2013), “Forlorn Hope”, RMS El Espacio (2011), in Mexico City: “V”, Ateneo Español de México (2012), “¡A pesar de todo!”, AN Studio (2011); and Pamplona: “Resignados”, Polvorín of the Ciudadela (2008). Among many other group shows, his participation in “Entornos Próximos 2008”, Artium, Vitoria, is worth a particular mention.

He has received various scholarships for artistic creation and several recognitions, including First Prize in the XVth Contest Pamplona Jóvenes Artistas (1999) and the Second Prize in the XXIVth Contest Encuentros de Navarra (2007), while he was selected in the itinerant exhibition Ertibil 2008 and the Certamen Internacional de Artes Plásticas de Pollença (2010), among others.
